Education

Although my PhD is in political science, my studies were not limited to that field only. As a student, I longed for interdisciplinary glasses to look at social reality through a variety of perspectives. The bachelor in social sciences at the VUB provided me just that, with a focus on both sociology, political science and communication science. My master, eventually, allowed me to specialize within political sciences, with a specific focus on international governance.

2021-2025: PhD in Political Science – Vrije Universiteit Brussel & University of Warwick

Position

2021-2025: PhD Researcher in Political Science – Vrije Universiteit Brussel & University of Warwick (funded by EUTOPIA Co-tutelle scholarship). This position allows me to focus on my research, while having teaching responsibilities such as supervision of bachelor papers.

2025-2026: Post-doctoral researcher – Vrije Universiteit Brussel & Assistant Professor – UHasselt

Other projects

As faculty member of the Department of Political Science at the VUB, together with my colleagues Benjamin, Nelly and Elias I have set-up the Junior Talks. This is a platform for all junior researchers in political science and sociology at the faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, in which lectures, presentations and sessions are held on each other’s research and general questions in academia.

Since April 2023, I am also affiliated with the Hannah Arendt Institute where I am part of the academic team of doctoral students.
